Half Moon Bay traveled to Sequoia Thursday afternoon with a chance to automatically qualify for the playoffs. Half Moon Bay jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first, and the game was never in doubt. The final score would end up 21-1. Lukas Meighen started and earned the win throwing 3 shutout innings. He was relieved by Josh Dybalski who threw 2 innings, while allowing 1 run. Dybalski was on striking out 3 batters. David Fisher pitched 2 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts. The Cougars smacked 23 hits on the day. Jared Mettam had 2 hits with a double, an RBI and 4 runs scored. Danny Guevara collected 2 hits, scored 2 runs, and drove in 2 runs. Peter Popiel had a hit, collected an RBI, and scored a run. Coleman Colucci had 2 hits with a double and 3 runs scored. Preston McAuley had 2 hits with 2 runs, and an RBI. Fisher took some daddy hacks and ended up with 4 hits, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI. Owen Murray had 4 hits with 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Tristan Hofmann had 2 hits with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Jake Perkins had 2 hits with a double, an RBI, and 2 runs scored. Cade Duncan had 2 hits with an RBI and 2 runs scored. The 2019 Cougars became just the third team in school history to record 20 wins on the season. The final record is (20-7) overall, and (10-4) in league. Half Moon Bay will learn their seeding this weekend.
