The Cougars played and won their single game last week in advance of three PAL tilts this week. After a sixth day of rest, the HMB Cougar Boys were back in action at home against rival Terra Nova. With the 6th Man Crew and the marching band setting a raucous tone and playing in front of a capacity crowd, the boys dominated their rival with a wire to wire and convincing win 67-49.
For the fourth time in PAL play, more than 10 players scored, and all 17 active players registered a positive stat. The game had a feeling of inevitability until the Cougars put the game out of reach during a 3rd quarter run outscoring Terra Nova 26-11 on 11 of 16 shooting including several of the now rote backdoor cut to the hoop fed by the pivot at the freethrow line. Sean Ediger and Zeke Syme alternated being everywhere with Syme registering 5 offensive rebounds and 4 steals in the first half and scoring 12 for the game. Sean Ediger led all scorers with 16 (7 of 13 and 2 of 3 on 3 pointers), followed by 12 from Mykola Ediger and 9 from Ben McKnight and Sean Kennedy making all three of his shots for 7 points. Assists were abundant with McKnight dishing 6, Mykola 4 and Owen Wooliever 4. Lukas Meighan added 5 rebounds. Next up is SSF Tuesday night to start 4 games this week.
