Friday against Oceana, the five Cougar Seniors led HMB to their 9th win 67-29 and remain undefeated in the PAL North. Following pregame ceremonies with their families, Seniors Zack Shaw, Michael Hourani, Oscar Valencia, Max Barron, and Teo Lincoln took the court and promptly overwhelmed the Sharks to take an early lead 14-3 and never looked back. The five played good team defense allowing only 3 points in the quarter while Lincoln and Barron haued in offensive boards for second chance possessions. With Hourani (10 points, 3 rebounds) directing traffic, all the Seniors scored: Valencia – 7 points 3 rebounds, Shaw – 4 points, Barron – 2 points, 6 rebounds, and Lincoln – 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Giving the Seniors a break in the second and third quarters, Sean Kennedy poured in 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting, Zeke Syme and Lukas Meighen made both of their shots for 5 each, Drew Dorwin added 10, and Luke Longaker and Kris Reyes added buckets.

With the band providing spirited interludes, the atmosphere was celebratory all night as the Seniors continued the onslaught to start the second half and push the lead to 61-18 by the end of third.

The boys are back at it Saturday at 5 pm for a hard test against Sacred Heart Prep currently ranked 8th in CCS by Prep2Prep compared to HMB’s 12th ranking.
