The Cougar JV Volleyball team moved to 6-0 in league and 14-4 overall with a win over the South San Francisco Warriors 2-0.

The first set saw the Cougars starting slowly with the Warriors taking an early 5-8 lead. Then the Cougars woke up and ran off a long run of points to take a commanding lead at 17-9. The Warriors tried for a late push but the lead was too great and the Cougars finished off the first set easily 25-18

The second set was all Half Moon Bay from beginning to end with the Cougars taking an immediate lead and never losing it to close out the 2nd set 25-13 and seal the match.

Cougar offensive standouts were Nori Carpenter with 4 Aces and 2 Kills, Mayah Johnson with 1 Ace and 4 Kills, and Meagan Mitchell with 5 Aces and 1 Kill. The defense was anchored by Mayah Johnson with 5 digs and Meagan Mitchell, Nori Carpenter, and Riley Mills each with 4 digs. And some great setting by Meagan Mitchell with 12 Assists and Joey Vetrone with 11 Assists.

The Cougars will next play an undefeated Sequoia team on Thursday, 10/3 at home. Go Cougars!
