The Cougars extend their unbeaten League record to 11-0 and their overall record to 22-5 with a 2 set sweep of the Jefferson Grizzlies.

The first set had the Cougars starting off quickly, running up a 15-5 lead behind the strong serving of Meagan Mitchell, Jasmine Standez, and Iris Grant. The Cougars continued to push relentlessly forward and closed out the set 25-12.

The second set had the Cougars again build up an early lead to 12-5. But the Grizzlies fought their way back with a strong serving run to bring the score within one at 14-13. The Cougars then answered with a long serving run of their own by Iris Grant to push the lead back to a sizable 23-16. One last effort by the Grizzlies to fight their way back point-by-point brought them to within two at 23-21. But the Cougars pressed forward to close out the set and the match 25-21.

Offensive standouts for the Cougars were Iris Grant with a massive 7 Aces, 4 Kills, and 1 Block, and Emily Jenar with 4 Kills. A strong defense was led by Mikaela Sendino with 13 digs followed by Iris Grant and Nori Carpenter each with 8 Digs. And Meagan Mitchell led the setting game with 9 Assists.

The Cougars next play a strong El Camino team away on Tuesday at 4:00.
