Cougars News · Spring Sports Cancellation

The California Interscholastic Federation and the Central Coast Section have officially ended the 2019-2020 athletics year (CIF Statement) . The cause of the early termination of all games, practices, and team events is the COVID 19 pandemic. HMBHS Athletics is saddened by this news, but we have a clear understanding that social distancing and isolation are key components to combating COVID 19.

HMBHS Athletics is extremely proud of the character and response of all of our student-athletes during this trying time.  We are also heartbroken for all student-athletes who could not complete the 2020 Spring Season. From a historical perspective; the last time California Interscholastic Federation canceled a season was during World War II.

HMBHS Athletics would like to thank all of the amazing student-athletes, coaches, parents, boosters and greater HMB Community for their support, engagement, and commitment to HMBHS student-athletes all year, every year.

HMBHS Athletics would like to recognize all of the hard-working journalists who provide a wonderful view into the experiences and performances of HMBHS student-athletes and their stories. Below are a variety of stories from the 2019-2020 school year which highlight the dedication, selflessness, and teamwork of HMBHS Student-Athletes.
