Congratulations to the girls XC team for finishing 20th in the state this year. This is a team that was not ranked in the top 10 in CCS division 4 to start the year. They came together under great guidance by both Claire Yerby and Kendall Mansukhani. Their hard work and dedication led them to a 3rd place finish at CCS earning a spot in the state meet. The girls were all first-time state meet competitors and did a great job.
In the race that had over 200 competitors, Junior Claire Yerby led the team in 21st place. She ran a great time of 18:59 over the 5K course. She was followed by fellow junior Kendall Mansukhani. Kendall took a spill and hurt her foot shortly after the 1 mile mark, but she toughed it out. She was followed by our four freshman phenoms, Jayda Bodas, Anna Bikle, Olivia Vargas and Natalie Curthoys, and sophomore Layne Faust.
Your coaches, school, parents, and community are proud of you! Great Season XC girls!
