Cougars News · Cross Country Successful at Mt. Sac

Congratulations to the cross country team for a very successful competition on its annual trip to the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational in southern California.  They competed in 4 races.
The highlight of the day was their first race.  In the freshmen boys division, Connor Moore led the Cougars by winning the race.  His effort was followed by Matthew Spink in 8th and Owen Wooliever in 15th.  Julio Rodriguez and Johnathan Billington completed the team scoring.  The Cougars took home the team title over South Pasadena by only 5 points.  It is very hard to earn a medal, let alone win at Mt. SAC, so make sure you show your appreciation for their accomplishments.
In the varsity girls race, Claire Yerby finished in 15th place and led her team to a top 15 finish.  They ran in what is called the Sweepstakes race.  It is a race that includes the top teams in the entire state.  Great job!
On the boys side, James McEachen led the boys in a tight pack to also achieve a top 15 team position in the boys version.  It was a great day for the team, followed by the reward of a day at Disneyland on Saturday.  Well done Cougar Cross Country!
