The Half Moon Bay Girls Varsity Volleyball team faced the undefeated Burlingame Panthers at the Cougar gym Thursday night in a competitive four-set match. The Panther offense came out swinging and took the first set 25-17. In a come-from-behind win, the Cougars dug in and took the second set 27-25, while Burlingame rallied in the third winning 25-16. HMB kept it tied up through the first half of the fourth set, but ultimately lost to the Panthers 25-18. Riley Donovan led the Cougar offense with 13 kills, followed by McKenzie Mell with 12. Sophie Barger had 27 assists and served three aces. Alex Hosilyk had 22 digs and 32 serve receives. Ashley Sheehy served a strong match, scoring two aces. The Cougars play at Menlo Atherton next Tuesday. Go Cougars!
